Pumpkin spice

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ground cinnamon 
  • ⅓ cup ground nutmeg 
  • ⅓ cup dried ginger 
  • ¼ cup ground allspice
  • 3 tbsp ground cloves

Method

Add all ingredients to an airtight glass jar. Seal and shake until combined. Store for up to one year.

Pumpkin spice latte base

 

Ingredients

  • ½ cup tightly packed demerara sugar 
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup pumpkin purée
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp plus 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • ¼ tsp salt

Method

In a medium saucepan, warm the water and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves (about two minutes). Remove from the heat and whisk in the remaining ingredients. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar. Seal jar and refrigerate for up to one month. Shake or stir before use.

Pumpkin spice latte

Ingredients

  • 2 oz brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin spice latte base 
  • 1 cup whole milk (or milk of choice), steamed
  • Sweetened whipped cream, for serving
  • Pumpkin spice, for serving (optional)

Method

In a warm mug, combine espresso and latte base. Top with steamed milk. Serve hot with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice, if you wish.
