Pumpkin spice
Ingredients
- ½ cup ground cinnamon
- ⅓ cup ground nutmeg
- ⅓ cup dried ginger
- ¼ cup ground allspice
- 3 tbsp ground cloves
Method
Add all ingredients to an airtight glass jar. Seal and shake until combined. Store for up to one year.
Pumpkin spice latte base
Ingredients
- ½ cup tightly packed demerara sugar
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup pumpkin purée
- 2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp plus 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
- ¼ tsp salt
Method
In a medium saucepan, warm the water and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves (about two minutes). Remove from the heat and whisk in the remaining ingredients. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar. Seal jar and refrigerate for up to one month. Shake or stir before use.
Pumpkin spice latte
Ingredients
- 2 oz brewed espresso or strong coffee
- 2 tbsp pumpkin spice latte base
- 1 cup whole milk (or milk of choice), steamed
- Sweetened whipped cream, for serving
- Pumpkin spice, for serving (optional)
Method
In a warm mug, combine espresso and latte base. Top with steamed milk. Serve hot with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice, if you wish.
