Toronto’s waterfront will be transformed into a Quebec-style cabane à sucre (sugar shack) over the weekend of March 11. Two sugar shacks will be serving up Ontario maple taffy, alongside live music and an action-packed line-up of activities that includes an ice carving competition and maple sugaring demonstrations. The event also features a Winter Marketplace with tons of sugar shack-inspired eats, including maple caramel dessert pierogi from Loaded Pierogi. For drinks, there’s Fireball Whisky Hot Chocolate and Warm Mulled Thornbury Cider, along with plenty of local craft brews. Better still, this one’s free to attend and shuttles will be running between the event site on Sugar Beach, the Distillery District, and Union Station throughout the weekend.
